Trace Processing Tools

Here you can find tools used to collect and read trace files.

The following tools are free to download under the terms of the SNIA Trace Data Files Download License. Please note that cookies must be enabled within your browser in order to download tools.

Lintel Additional documentation is provided in the package. The Lintel package is required for building Data Series and SRTLite. The current version is available on GitHub; choose "Go to site with tool" to access this package.
Seer/LASR Trace Reading Tool (Dumpobs) This is a binary executable of a tool to read these traces. Sources are not available and documentation is included in a readme file. A Linux x86 binary Unix program can be used to read the Seer/LASR Traces
DataSeries Libraries This is the library for working with the DataSeries format. Documentation and sample programs can be found on GitHub. Libraries and programs for manipulating files in the DataSeries format. This software requires the Lintel package to run. The current version is available on GitHub; choose "Go to site with tool" to access this package.
SRTLite SRTLite is required in order to read traces that are in the SRT trace format. Additional information about this program can be found in the README. This program is required for reading traces in the SRT trace format. It needs the Lintel package in order to function. SRTLite was originally provided by HP.
CMU-DFSTrace Reading Tools A library of various tools for reading the CMU DFSTraces. Additional information can be found in the README. This program is required for reading the CMU DFSTraces
Docker Registry Trace Player Replays anonymized production level traces for a registry. More information in the README file. Trace player used to replay the Docker Registry Traces.
Re-Animator Re-Animator can collect traces efficiently and replay them in various ways. More information is given in the Systor paper. Re-Animator collects and replays traces in the Dataseries format.
